Overview Due to growth we are currently recruiting for a Commercial Gas Engineer on behalf of a well-know and successful FM and HVAC contractor. Operating over 10 years, they have over 200 members of staff working for them and multiple offices in the UK. They cover a range of sectors including Education, Healthcare, Hospitality, Local Government & Retail. They have a large portfolio of clients including Aldi, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Defence, Schools, NHS etc. As the Commercial Gas Engineer, you will join the service and maintenance team working on commercial sites covering from the North East to York. The role will require you to service and repair all types of heating equipment, including but not limited to gas fired unit heaters, air handling units and gas fired boilers. This is a permanent position, covering the North East to York, paying £44k – £48k per annum depending on experience. Perks include Van & Fuel Card. Private use of van is allowed. Paid door to door travel. Plenty of overtime and weekend work available. They also have a bonus scheme. Pension. 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Training and Development opportunities. They have an enhanced rota for a major client which is 1-4 and a normal call out rota which is 1-12. Responsibilities * Day to day responsive and preventative planned maintenance works across a varied and wide range of commercial and heating systems. * Installation and repairs to Gas appliances including AHU\’s, water heaters, Warm Air Heaters, Radiant tubes and boilers in commercial and industrial buildings. * Response service, fault diagnosis, repair and renewal works. * Experience of crimping, soldering and pipework installations up to 4\”. * Maintenance and upkeep of Plant Rooms and associated equipment. * Install new plant equipment when required. * Working to relevant Health & Safety Practices while on site. * Ensure that any work carried out is compliant with relevant legislation and is in line with contract SLAs. Skills & Attributes * Valid Commercial Gas Qualifications. * Commercial Catering would be beneficial. * Background in building services/facilities management would be beneficial. * Previous experience working on commercial heating systems. * Good communication and customer service skills. * The ability to work independently and use your own initiative. * An eye for detail and a desire to work to a very high standard. * Full UK Driving License.
