We are currently recruiting for a Technical M&E Sales Manager on behalf of a leading manufacturer of rotating electrical machinery and pumps across the UK and internationally. Established over 20 years, they provide their services to a range of sectors including government, education, FM, rail, marine and many more.

As the Technical M&E Sales Manager you will be responsible for maintaining and developing sales within the Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Services Department, with a focus on achieving and exceeding annual revenue targets. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and supporting project delivery through technical consultation and site assessments.

Experience on the following equipment would be beneficial but not essential; Submersible Pumps, Clean Water Pumps, Booster Pump Systems, Sewage Treatment Pump Systems, Borehole Pumps and Borehole Water Supply Systems, UV Sterilisation & Water Filtration Systems, Heating & Chilled Water Pressurisation / Degassing Systems, Pump Control Panels and Pump Control Systems, Rainwater Harvesting Systems, Associated pipework, valves, and mechanical/electrical control equipment.

This is a permanent position working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. The hours are 7:30am – 4pm. The salary is paying £50k per annum. Perks include company vehicle, commission bonus structure, performance based annual bonus, pension, private healthcare and 25 days annual leave + bank holidays. Training will be provided where required. This role is a hybrid position reporting to the office in Bristol. The role will involve travel across the South West region to attend customer sites and meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prioritise regional sales activities and customer engagement to achieve sales targets.
  • Develop and manage a business portfolio in line with the agreed market development strategy.
  • Manage product and service mix, pricing, and margins to meet agreed commercial objectives.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with both existing and prospective customers to maximise service quality, business growth, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer and prospect interactions within internal systems, responding promptly to enquiries and following up on sales opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity, reporting findings to support the development of a sustainable and profitable business strategy.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure a coordinated approach to increasing sales performance and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate, liaise, and negotiate with customers during meetings and attend internal company meetings where required.
  • Prepare and raise Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for project works to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess project requirements and produce Bills of Materials (BOM) and detailed quotations.

Skills & Attributes

  • Proven sales management experience within the M&E, building services, pump, water treatment, or engineering sector.
  • Strong interest and understanding of technical sales and project management within an engineering environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Working knowledge of pipework systems, pipe sizing, and associated mechanical installations.
  • Experience preparing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) with a good understanding of health & safety practices.
  • Experience conducting site surveys and preparing Bills of Materials (BOM) and quotations.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including pricing strategy, margin control, and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships with both commercial and residential clients.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and basic sales reporting.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • Relevant industry qualifications or training (e.g., engineering, mechanical, electrical, or sales-related) would be advantageous.
