Due to growth we are currently recruiting for an Electrical Estimator on behalf of a well-established M&E Contractor. Operating for 15 years they work in a range of sectors including Commercial, Industrial, Retail, Leisure and FM. Recent clients include the likes of Marks & Spencers, Primark, Royal Mail, Pure Gym, Manchester Airport, as well as local councils and schools.
As the Electrical Estimator you will be responsible for the compilation of electrical estimates which are technically accurate, professionally compiled, comprehensive and competitive for the purpose of winning contracts. This is a permanent position working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. The salary is paying £45k - £55k per annum depending on experience. Perks include car allowance, pension, private healthcare, training & development opportunities etc.
Responsibilities- Identify and gain tender enquiry opportunities.
- Estimate and win contracts.
- Use of estimating and associated technical software.
- Take offs of materials from drawings, and inputting into estimates to generate bills of quantities where necessary.
- Liaising with the Buyer regarding plant enquiries, materials and subcontractor quotations.
- General estimating administration and support, e.g. copying drawings / specifications, distribution of information etc.
- Undertaking site visits or surveys to gain additional information.
- Ensuring that due regard to Health and Safety is given when compiling estimates.
- Ensuring that all requirements of the company Management System are observed in the compilation of tenders, and management and storage of documents and associated paperwork.
- Assisting in project accounting, including management of variations.
- Supporting the Buyer with procurement of materials.
- Production of supporting drawings.
- Operation and Maintenance Manual Development.
- Attending and participating in tender interviews as required.
- Working to the requirements of the Company Management System, i.e. ISO45001, ISO9001 and ISO14001.
- Appropriately qualified in an electrical or estimating / engineering discipline.
- Experience working within an M&E / Building Services background.
- High level of competence using MS Office packages, particularly Excel, Word and Project.
- Show understanding and have the ability to apply themselves working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- An eye for detail and a desire to work to a very high standard.
