Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Welder Fabricator on behalf of a manufacturer of large industrial stainless steel heaters for the GSE and AME market.
Due to an expanding order-book we now have an opening for a time served and skilled TIG-welder/fabricator with a strong bias towards tube and pipework.
Operating for over 40 years, they rent and lease out new and used airport equipment to Airlines, Airports and De-icing companies.
Clients include the likes of Jet2, Easy Jet, Air Ambulance, Gatwick Airport and Heathrow Airport.
The work requires an individual with current or recent experience in full penetration TIG-welding on small bore tube and pipe in 300 series stainless steel.
Some of this welding is positional and with restricted access.
The product being manufactured includes a large variety of components, the most critical of which involve a complicated assembly sequence.
Therefore, the applicant must be able to work on a correct first-time basis.
A high percentage of parts are profile cut, tapped, formed, turned and machined by subcontractors for ease of assembly.
This is a permanent position, based in Lasham, paying £45k - £50k per annum.
It is working Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm.
Other perks also include overtime paid at time and a half, pension and 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

Responsibilities
- A detailed-orientated and methodical approach.
- Cutting, joining and shaping metal and other materials using heat and tools.
- Reading and understand assembly instructions, ensuring materials are available and taking precise measurements.
- Performing tasks such as fitting, setting, installing, cutting and welding.
- Back purged TIG welding.
- Accurate use of section rolls and plate rolls.
- Turn table welding.
- Orbital welding.
- Maintaining a clean and orderly work space.
Skills & Attributes
- Proven experience as a Welder Fabricator.
- Technical training or certification in welding and fabrication.
- Proficient in MIG and TIG.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Knowledge or relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing.
- Good attention to detail.
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools.
