About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Credit Hire Fee Earner to join our established legal team. You will be responsible for managing a full caseload of pre-litigated and litigated credit hire matters, handling files from initial instruction through to settlement or trial. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and knowledgeable professional with at least 3 years’ hands-on experience in credit hire to join a supportive and forward-thinking firm with excellent progression prospects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a caseload of credit hire claims, both pre-litigation and litigated
- Evaluate liability, quantum, and legal strategy, providing sound commercial judgement
- Prepare and draft legal documentation, including claim forms, witness statements, and court pleadings
- Negotiate settlements effectively and liaise with clients, insurers, third parties, and counsel
- Proactively progress files in accordance with internal service standards and court deadlines
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records
- Contribute to departmental targets and performance goals
Candidate Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience managing credit hire claims, including litigated files
- Strong understanding of credit hire principles and relevant case law
- Confident knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and litigation processes
- Ability to manage a busy caseload independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to prioritise effectively
- A proactive and commercially-minded approach
