The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Senior Compliance Officer to join our busy education supply agency in Watford. You will play a pivotal role to assist with the growth of the office and in ensuring that all teaching and support staff meet the necessary safer recruitment compliance standards. The role will include supporting accounts functions from time to time, making sure everything runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to legal standards and internal guidelines.
  • Collaborate with various departments to provide guidance on compliance-related matters and promote a culture of integrity and accountability.
  • Prepare detailed reports on compliance activities.
  • Managing the compliance process for teaching and support staff.
  • Ensuring all documentation and checks are up to date and meet industry standards.
  • Confidently chasing compliance and liaising with candidates to ensure all requirements are met.
  • Engaging with clients and candidates over the phone to maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Chasing references and thinking outside the box on how to get these back.
  • Supporting consultants and working closely with them to get as many candidates cleared as possible to work.

The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for someone who:

  • Existing or previous compliance experience within the education recruitment sector.
  • Strong understanding of the compliance needed for educational staff.
  • Confident communicator, particularly on the phone.
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and proactive.
  • Computer and system literate.
  • Builds relationships easily.
  • Previous experience co-managing a team.

Work Location: This is an office-based position, so the ability to commute to Watford is essential.
