Apex is working with a leading specialist contractor delivering complex structural, civils, and infrastructure projects across the UK. They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team working in Runcorn. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial delivery of civils and structural repair projects, supporting profitability, contractual compliance, and financial performance from pre-construction through to final account. Working closely with operational and commercial teams, you’ll gain exposure to a varied portfolio of specialist infrastructure and concrete repair schemes.

Key Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor:

  • Manage the commercial delivery of civils and concrete repair projects
  • Assist with cost control, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting
  • Manage subcontract procurement and account administration
  • Prepare valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Support the management of NEC and/or JCT contracts
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
  • Work closely with site and operational teams to ensure commercial success
  • Maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships
  • Support tendering and pricing activities where required

Skills & Experience of the Quantity Surveyor:

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civils, infrastructure, concrete repairs, or specialist construction sectors
  • Understanding of NEC and/or JCT contracts
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts and project costs
  • Background working on civils, structures, or concrete repair projects is highly desirable
