As an Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre-construction team, preparing accurate and competitive tenders for civils, structural, and concrete repair projects. You’ll work closely with commercial and operational teams to support successful project delivery from tender stage through to contract award.
Key Responsibilities of the Estimator:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for civils and concrete repair projects
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
- Produce take-offs and pricing for labour, materials, and subcontract packages
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
- Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and commercial considerations
- Support bid submissions and client presentations where required
- Work closely with operational and commercial teams throughout the tender process
- Maintain accurate estimating records and cost databases
Skills & Experience of the Estimator:
- Previous experience as an Estimator within civils, infrastructure, concrete repairs, or specialist construction sectors
- Strong understanding of construction methods and estimating processes
- Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience pricing civils, structures, or concrete repair projects is highly desirable
- Strong communication and organisational abilities
- Experience working for a contractor or specialist subcontractor preferred
Qualifications:
- Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline desirable
- Relevant industry experience considered equally valuable
