Looking to lead the delivery of major civil engineering projects?

An established and growing civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Works Manager to join its delivery team on a long-term infrastructure project in the North West Lancashire .

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering complex heavy civils works while working alongside a highly experienced project team.

As Works Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, coordinating multiple work packages and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme.

You'll work closely with engineers, commercial teams, subcontractors and key stakeholders to maintain progress and drive successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the safe and efficient delivery of construction activities on site.
  • Lead and coordinate site teams, engineers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, budget and quality requirements.
  • Champion a positive health, safety and environmental culture.
  • Plan and monitor upcoming works, identifying and resolving any issues.
  • Maintain strong communication with project stakeholders.
  • Support project planning, sequencing and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual and industry standards.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Works Manager, General Foreman, Site Manager or similar within heavy civils or infrastructure.
  • Strong background delivering projects involving highways, earthworks, drainage, structures or reinforced concrete.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and construction best practice.
  • SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.
