Earthworks Surveyor
We are looking for an experienced Earthworks Surveyor to join a busy construction project on a 6-month contract, starting immediately.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering major earthworks projects, ensuring sites are accurately surveyed, safely prepared, and cost-effectively managed.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out topographical surveys to produce accurate maps of land and site features.
- Measure, map, and monitor ground conditions before and throughout construction.
- Calculate cut and fill volumes to achieve required site levels and stable foundations.
- Set out works using GPS, total stations, and laser surveying equipment.
- Produce volumetric reports to monitor earthworks progress and support project budgets.
- Develop and maintain 3D terrain models for use with machine control systems.
- Test and analyse soil conditions where required.
- Ensure all surveying work is completed accurately and in line with project specifications.
- Work closely with site managers, engineers, and construction teams to support project delivery.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Earthworks Surveyor on civil engineering or construction projects.
- Proficient in GPS, Total Station, laser surveying equipment, and relevant surveying software.
- Experience producing topographical surveys, cut and fill calculations, and volumetric reports.
- Knowledge of 3D modelling and machine control systems.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a site team.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
