Apex Resources Ltd requires 1x Site Manager to start on the 1st of June in Galashiels TD1 area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the necessary labour, plant, staff, and equipment to achieve completion on time, to specification, and within budget.
- Manage contract programmes to ensure projects are delivered within timescales.
- Ensure site supervisors are fully briefed on project requirements and priorities.
- Monitor and control costs to ensure alignment with budgets and financial targets.
- Ensure the Company Health, Safety, and Environmental Plan is effectively implemented.
- Manage procurement of materials and plant in line with company processes.
- Provide quality control of works, ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications.
- Attend and contribute to internal company meetings (handover meetings, cost meetings, planning sessions).
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Support and coordinate site engineers and supervisors, ensuring accuracy of setting out and records.
- Mentor and support junior staff, apprentices, and engineers, promoting succession planning and long-term workforce development.
Person Specification:
- HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent).
- CSCS card (management level).
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
- Proven experience as a Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager in civil engineering projects.
- Demonstrable record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
- Good commercial awareness and ability to control costs.
- Confident leader with the ability to motivate teams and drive performance.
- Decisive and proactive in problem-solving.
- Resilient, adaptable, and able to work under pressure.
