Apex Resources Ltd is looking for a person who will be supervising the recycling area; ensuring all waste streams are correctly segregated and contained; and performing other production duties as required. A counterbalance forklift license is essential for the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Working in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with contractor's and client's Operational Procedures.
  • To ensure that environmental issues are reported immediately to the Line Manager.
  • To ensure that you are at your place of work in a timely manner as required by the business.
  • To attend site Safety/operational briefings as required.
  • Report hazards, near misses and incidents immediately.
  • Ensure good hygiene practices are followed.
  • To load containers and vehicles with waste streams to the commercially agreed standard in line with all site and legislative requirements.
  • To liaise with the Depot including the dedicated contractor Sales Manager and Traffic Planner to schedule any collections and resolve any issues.
  • To deal with any third parties in a polite and courteous manner and avoid any confrontation.
  • To operate Fork Lift trucks as required.
  • Perform other production tasks such as operating balers, housekeeping, removing contamination, identifying opportunities for improvement and any other reasonable tasks as requested by the Line Manager.
  • To assist in hand sorting of material as required.
  • To perform routine maintenance tasks, ensuring any equipment used is kept in a safe working condition and any defects are reported to the Shift Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.
  • To ensure Daily TPM Checks are undertaken and recorded in line with company procedures.
  • Loading of containers and vehicles, ensuring quality and health and safety standards are met.
  • To ensure that outgoing material meets the desired quality specification through inspection and checks.
  • To undertake housekeeping tasks to ensure the Recycling Area is safe and tidy, with all containers clearly labelled to prevent contamination.
  • To operate the baler as per the Company Guidelines and the Manufacturer's Instructions.
  • To accompany visitors to the Recycling Area upon request.
  • To maintain on-site records including vehicle movements, safety checks.
  • To complete regular Stock Checks.
  • Any task deemed reasonable as per the training and competence of the operator.

Requirements for the role:

  • Experience required within waste management/production/manufacturing.
  • Manual Handling.
  • Forklift license.
  • COSHH Awareness.
  • Basic H&S awareness.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 7am - 4pm

Rate of pay: Rate of pay would be £14.40 - potential to increase slightly after a good probation.

Interviews: Interviews for this position will be held with the client at their premises in the Cumbernauld area on Tuesday 27th January.
