As a Junior Quality Engineer, you will provide support across manufacturing, product engineering and quality management within an automotive parts manufacturing environment. You will also liaise with customers, suppliers and external service providers throughout the product lifecycle, from design through to production.
This Junior Quality Engineer opportunity is well suited to someone who is newly qualified or at an early stage in their quality engineering career and is looking to develop their knowledge and experience within the automotive sector. The position operates on a day shift, working 39 hours per week, with training provided to support career progression.
Role & Responsibilities of a Junior Quality Engineer:
- Prepare and submit Part Approval documentation, including PPAP, to customers.
- Support the Advanced Product Quality Planning process, including APQP activities internally and with customers.
- Carry out dimensional measurement and prepare measurement reports for new and existing products.
- Obtain IMDS information from sub-suppliers and submit IMDS information for customer approval.
- Set quality standards and establish quality master samples for use within production.
- Support the goods-inwards inspection process.
- Assist with the investigation and resolution of customer quality and build concerns.
- Assist with the investigation and resolution of internal quality and build concerns.
- Create and update new and existing Standard Operating Procedures.
- Analyse customer CAD models and 2D drawings using Autodesk Fusion 360.
- Manage the calibration process for metrology equipment.
- Coordinate and track non-conformance reports.
Requirements of a Junior Quality Engineer:
- Fundamental engineering knowledge.
- Strong IT skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
