About the Role
We are seeking a skilled EDM/Spark Erosion Technician to support the manufacture of high-quality transmission components for motorsport and aerospace applications. This role involves working in a small, dedicated team, applying a right-first-time approach to precision engineering.
As an EDM/Spark Erosion Technician, you will perform Wire EDM and Spark Erosion operations using Swiss-built EDM Charmilles equipment, including the Charmilles Form 200 Sparker, ensuring components meet the highest standards of accuracy, safety, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Wire EDM/Spark Erosion operations on precision components.
- Interpret technical drawings and planning route cards to produce parts to specification.
- Manufacture aerospace and motorsport components in line with approved data.
- Program EDM machines offline using RoboCam or similar (training can be provided).
- Ensure all work is delivered on time, to quality, and to required tolerances.
- Contribute to problem solving, continuous improvement, and best practice across the workshop.
- Support other manufacturing areas when required.
- Work additional hours when necessary to meet critical deadlines.
Key Competencies & Experience
- Proven experience with Wire EDM and Spark Erosion processes.
- Skilled in operating numerically controlled EDM machines.
- Competency in offline programming (RoboCam or similar software).
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proactive, innovative, and team-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Flexibility to adapt and support broader manufacturing activities.
