We are currently recruiting for an Expediter to join a busy aerospace manufacturing environment on an initial 3-month contract, with the potential for extension to 6 months. The Expediter will play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of components and assemblies through the manufacturing process, helping production remain on schedule and supporting on-time customer deliveries. Working closely with Production, Planning, Manufacturing, Logistics and Quality teams, the Expediter will monitor work orders, identify production bottlenecks and ensure manufacturing priorities are effectively communicated across the business.

Role & Responsibilities of an Expeditor

  • Expedite the movement of components and products between production cells, machining and inspection operations.
  • Monitor manufacturing work orders to ensure production remains on schedule.
  • Identify production delays and bottlenecks, escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Liaise with Production, Planning, Logistics and Quality teams to maintain production flow.
  • Update and maintain accurate production records and work order statuses.
  • Produce daily and hourly production plans.
  • Communicate manufacturing priorities effectively across departments.
  • Support the achievement of production and customer delivery targets.
  • Maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment in accordance with company procedures.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of Expediter activities across the manufacturing operation.

Requirements of an Expeditor

  • Previous experience as an Expediter, Progress Chaser, Production Controller or similar manufacturing support role.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across production teams.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving production issues.
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Previous aerospace manufacturing experience is desirable.
  • Experience using SAP or a similar ERP/MRP system is advantageous.
  • Understanding of manufacturing work orders and production planning processes.
