This role is pivotal in supporting day-to-day paint shop operations, including both manual paint booth activities and automated powder coating processes, ensuring procedures are followed, teams are developed, and customer expectations are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities of the Paint Shop Team Leader:

  • Must have experience working within a manufacturing Paint Shop environment.
  • Experience leading teams involved in wet paint application, powder coating, or automated paint processes.
  • Good understanding of paint preparation, application techniques, curing processes, and quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and day-to-day support to Paint Shop operators.
  • Act as the main point of contact for Paint Shop production activities and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate workforce deployment, paint booth utilisation, robot line scheduling and shift resources.
  • Lead shift handovers and maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with standard operating procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Promote compliance with health, safety, environmental and 6S standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Support employee development through training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Investigate paint quality concerns, production issues, and equipment downtime, implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Monitor attendance, timekeeping, and overall team performance.
  • Conduct investigations and produce reports where necessary.
  • Maintain clear communication across departments to support operational success.

Hours & Pay:

  • Hours: 39 hours per week
  • Rotating Fortnightly Shifts
  • Monday to Thursday: 06:00am - 14:00pm (8 hours per day)
  • Friday: 06:00am - 13:00pm (7 hours)
  • Monday to Thursday: 14:00pm - 22:00pm (8 hours per day)
  • Friday: 13:00pm - 20:00pm (7 hours)
