Role: Electrical Engineer

Role Summary

This role is responsible for the end-to-end design, development, validation and ongoing support of Electrical and Electronic (EE) systems within a systems engineering environment.

Working collaboratively across engineering teams and wider group counterparts, the successful candidate will deliver technical solutions that meet project timing, cost and quality objectives while ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards.

  • Role & Responsibilities of an Electrical Engineer
  • Develop and maintain a high level of technical expertise in Electrical and Electronic (EE) systems.
  • Work collaboratively with peers across engineering functions and wider group counterparts.
  • Take ownership of assigned electrical and electronic components, including ECUs and sensor elements.
  • Operate within a systems engineering environment using a function-oriented development approach.
  • Deliver projects from concept through to production release and end-of-production support.
  • Produce technical specifications, bid specifications and documentation, including regulatory requirements.
  • Support design activities including mechanical packaging, mounting, circuit diagrams and software considerations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and engineering partners throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Plan and support validation and testing activities, including test planning and issue resolution.
  • Manage engineering changes and provide ongoing production support.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, project updates and problem-solving reviews.
  • Raise technical concerns and support issue management to ensure successful system delivery.
  • Ensure all activities comply with company, VW Group and Health & Safety requirements.

Requirements Of The Role

  • Strong design and development experience within Electrical and Electronic systems.
  • Knowledge of electric vehicle functions, including electronic hardware, software and integrated systems.
  • Experience working within a systems engineering environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to influence colleagues within areas of responsibility.
  • Understanding of financial considerations and cost awareness.
  • Experience using Vector tools and logging capability.
  • Affinity for technology with a strong curiosity for engineering solutions.
  • Interest in human health and medical-related technologies.
  • Practical, proactive approach with the ability to develop creative solutions.
  • German language skills would be advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree (e. g. BEng) or equivalent qualification (e. g. HND) in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Associate membership of a relevant professional institution is desirable.
  • Commitment to following Health & Safety policies and procedures.

Please note, this role is deemed inside of IR35.

The Umbrella Pay Rate offered is inclusive of the Assignment pay rate, holiday pay and Apex Recruitment's contribution towards Employer Costs.
