The Suspension Engineer will apply established engineering theories and principles to deliver complex suspension engineering activities across research and development programmes. As a Suspension Engineer, you will operate within an Agile Squad environment, supporting the design, validation, and industrialisation of suspension systems while ensuring delivery to quality, cost, and timing targets.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Deliver the commodity plan to quality, cost, and timing targets, including maintenance of the Worldwide Engineering Release System.
  • Deliver Engineering Advanced Product Quality Planning deliverables.
  • Support the management of Change Requests, expenditure forecasting, and coordination with supplier teams to meet programme milestones.
  • Develop and support spring and damper module test plans, including detailed planning through development stages to sign-off.
  • Support engineering test teams with issue rectification and root cause analysis.
  • Assist in resolving issues with supplier component engineering and vehicle attribute teams to achieve target performance.
  • Ensure all relevant engineering standards are met throughout design maturation.
  • Support achievement of programme cost and weight targets.
  • Maintain legal regulations, requirements management, and design verification documentation.
  • Keep module documentation up to date, including meeting records.
  • Undertake additional tasks as directed by the line manager in support of the Suspension Engineer role.

Requirements of the Role

  • Proven experience managing business, technical, and process issue resolution within a project team environment.
  • Strong knowledge of product creation and delivery, change control, and product definition processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
  • Experience within engineering or programme planning environments.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand GD&T notation.
  • CAD / CAE design and analysis experience, ideally using Dassault toolsets.
  • Exposure to suspension damper, coil spring, or air spring technologies.
  • Experience working within Agile or Scrum methodologies.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience.
