The Product Owner Electrical Power System is responsible for driving the delivery and integration of an efficient electrical power supply system, ensuring alignment with customer expectations, technical feasibility, and programme timelines through the application of strong systems engineering principles.
Role & Responsibilities
- Act as Product Owner Electrical Power System within the Electrical Efficiency Management function, defining and owning the electrical efficiency vision across vehicle programmes.
- Represent the voice of the customer throughout all stages of feature development, with a clear understanding of energy usage and efficiency implications.
- Create, develop, and present visualisation tools and concepts for electrical energy management strategies to a broad range of stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional communication, acting as the primary liaison between electrical efficiency and wider engineering functions to ensure consistent understanding of requirements.
- Manage change by tracking updates to requirements, assessing impacts on current and future programmes, and communicating changes effectively.
Requirements Of The Role
- Proven capability to operate effectively as a Product Owner Electrical Power System within complex automotive engineering environments.
- Knowledge of vehicle power supply systems and electrical architectures.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and V-model development processes.
- Experience of feature development and system integration within automotive systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Graduate or postgraduate qualification in an engineering discipline.
- Desirable experience with CAE modelling tools and requirements management systems such as Dassault TRM or IBM DOORS.
