Role Overview
We are hiring for two exciting opportunities for a Field Service Engineer – PSV (Electric & ICE Vehicles). These roles involve supporting a diverse fleet of electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) public service vehicles (PSVs) at customer locations. The successful candidate must be flexible, as shift patterns and working hours may vary depending on operational needs.
Role 1:
- Working Days: Monday to Friday, with alternate weekends (subject to change)
Role 2:
- Working Days: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work (currently 1 in 4 Saturdays, subject to change)
Purpose of the Role
As a Field Service Engineer – PSV (Electric & ICE Vehicles), you will provide expert service, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs for a growing fleet of electric and ICE PSVs. You will play a key role in minimising downtime and supporting high vehicle performance standards through both scheduled and responsive tasks across multiple customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections, fault diagnosis, and repairs on electric and ICE-powered PSVs
- Deliver high-quality servicing in line with technical documentation and maintenance schedules
- Communicate with customers, technical support teams, and parts departments to complete tasks efficiently
- Produce accurate job cards and documentation, securing sign-off before leaving customer sites
- Submit completed reports to the service centre promptly
- Attend technical and product training, including potential time at a production facility
- Follow all safety protocols and site-specific regulations
- Support customers with day-to-day vehicle care and troubleshooting
- Provide service coverage in additional regions when required
Qualifications & Experience
- Full UK Driving Licence and PSV Licence
- City & Guilds Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Strong diagnostics skills for both electric drivetrains and ICE vehicles
- High Voltage (HV) trained for safe handling of EV systems
- Current Driver CPC
