This is a hands-on Lead Electrical Assembly Technician role within a manufacturing environment focused on the assembly and testing of electric vehicle (EV) charging systems. You will take responsibility for assembling and testing EV charging equipment, while coordinating day-to-day build activities and ensuring work is completed to the required quality and technical standards. The role requires strong electrical assembly experience and a solid understanding of electrical principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble electrical and electro-mechanical components used in EV charging systems
- Carry out detailed electrical assembly including:
- Crimping Mini-Fit and similar electrical connectors
- Cable and wiring harness assembly
- Identify opportunities for improvement
- Amend or help create SOPs where required
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Proven experience in electrical assembly within a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals, including Ohm’s Law
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
- Confident using a multimeter and electrical test equipment
- Hands-on experience with crimping tools and electrical connectors
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality
Desirable
- Inspection & Testing qualification
- Experience assembling or testing EV chargers, power electronics, or similar electrical products
- Exposure to ISO9001 or other regulated manufacturing environments
