Are you an experienced Materials Coordinator looking to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment where your planning expertise will make a real difference? As a Material Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring materials and components are available to support demanding production schedules while working closely with suppliers, production teams and planning functions.
As the successful Material Coordinator, you will:
- Interpret production schedules, manage inventory levels, monitor material availability and proactively resolve supply issues before they impact production.
- Build strong supplier relationships, coordinate deliveries and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen supply chain performance.
The Role:
- Plan and control the supply of materials and components to support production and build schedules.
- Monitor material availability and identify potential shortages that may impact production.
- Liaise with production and build teams to resolve material-related issues.
- Coordinate with Material Controllers and internal stakeholders to maintain component availability.
- Attend production and planning meetings, providing updates on material status and recovery plans.
- Work alongside the MRP Data Analyst to improve planning accuracy and resolve demand issues.
- Maintain accurate material status updates and communicate progress to key stakeholders.
- Build effective supplier relationships to expedite deliveries and resolve supply issues.
- Monitor inventory levels against production demand and agreed stock targets.
- Interpret production schedules and MRP requirements to generate accurate material demand.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks affecting production.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across material planning and supply chain processes.
- Assist with supplier meetings to ensure production requirements are achieved.
- Support the implementation and evaluation of material delivery processes from supplier through to production.
Who are we looking for?
- Previous experience as a Material Coordinator or within a material planning environment.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles.
- Experience using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems or similar.
- Previous experience managing material supply in line with production schedules.
- Manufacturing or automotive industry experience is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent planning and organisational ability.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday - 07:30 to 16.15 and Friday - 7.00 to 15.30, 1 working from home day per week.
