We are currently recruiting for a Cockpit Design Engineer to join a leading automotive engineering environment based in Crewe. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting‑edge concept and vehicle architecture projects within an advanced R&D function. The successful Cockpit Design Engineer will play a key role in the development and integration of cockpit systems, supporting concept creation and early‑phase vehicle programmes across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support concept development of cockpit systems within vehicle programmes
  • Develop CAD‑based design solutions, supporting robust concept delivery
  • Integrate surfaces and ensure compliance with technical and packaging requirements
  • Create and maintain vehicle architecture concepts including primary hardpoints and system integration
  • Work collaboratively with cross‑functional engineering teams to develop solutions and resolve issues
  • Lead technical discussions and contribute to concept reviews and decision‑making processes
  • Track progress of system integration and highlight risks impacting delivery timelines

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong experience in automotive concept engineering or vehicle architecture
  • Proven capability in cockpit, seating, or interior systems integration
  • Advanced CAD experience (Catia V5 essential)
  • Strong understanding of surface integration and vehicle package constraints
  • Ability to develop concepts from initial "blank sheet" stage through to feasibility
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical conflicts

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within automotive OEM environments
  • Aware of group engineering systems and processes
  • Understanding of Product Emergence Process (PEP)
