An opportunity has arisen for a Supply Planner to join a Supply Chain Management Team on a temporary basis in Leamington Spa. The role will focus on managing material planning, supplier schedules, MRP outputs and inventory levels to support uninterrupted production.
The Supply Planner will be responsible for:
- Owning and managing MRP outputs, ensuring accurate and timely placement of purchase orders.
- Converting demand requirements into supplier schedules and managing delivery performance.
- Maintaining system data accuracy, including lead times, MOQ, safety stock and pricing.
- Working closely with production planning to ensure alignment between demand and supply.
- Monitoring and managing inventory levels, reducing excess and obsolete stock.
- Developing and executing recovery plans to mitigate supply shortages and disruptions.
- Collaborating with Category Managers on supplier performance and escalation topics.
- Participating in daily production and SIOP meetings to highlight risks and constraints.
- Driving improvements in planning processes and system utilisation.
- Supporting NPI activities from a supply and planning perspective.
- Ensuring timely resolution of invoice and delivery discrepancies.
- Undertaking any other duties required to perform the Supply Planner role.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in supply planning, materials planning or a similar role.
- Strong experience with MRP/ERP systems.
- Understanding of supply chain planning processes, including demand, supply and inventory.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally with production, procurement and logistics teams.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- High attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience within a manufacturing environment.
Desirable
- APICS CPIM or similar qualification, or willingness to work towards.
- Experience with SIOP / IBP processes.
- Knowledge of manufacturing components such as castings, metals or assemblies.
- Experience in inventory optimisation and planning parameter tuning.
- Previous experience as a Supply Planner would be advantageous.
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m. – 12:30 noon.
