About the Role:
We are seeking a kind, patient, and dedicated Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support a young girl with learning disabilities in her daily life. This is a highly rewarding one-to-one role, ideal for someone who is passionate about making a real difference in a child’s world through consistency, care, and compassion. You’ll be working closely with her and her family in a home and community setting, helping her achieve personal goals, maintain routines, and engage in meaningful activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care, including assistance with hygiene and dressing, as needed
- Support with feeding and meal preparation
- Encourage participation in educational and social activities
- Assist with mobility and general safety at home and in the community
- Monitor her health and well-being, reporting any concerns to the family or supervising healthcare professional
- Foster a supportive, structured, and fun environment to help build confidence and independence
- Follow care plans and communication protocols as guided by the family and healthcare team
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working with children or individuals with learning disabilities
- A calm, patient, and empathetic nature
- Excellent communication skills
- Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently
- Basic understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the young girl's specific needs and personality
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
