Apex Recruit Ltd is currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to work with young children on behalf of West Sussex Council. This is an ongoing role with excellent flexibility, allowing you to choose shifts that fit your lifestyle.
Pay Rate: Β£13.00 β Β£16.00 per hour (depending on experience and working times)

- Day shifts
- Night shifts

Role Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care and support to young children
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and structured environment
- Support children with emotional, behavioural, and physical needs
- Assist with daily routines, personal care (where required), and activities
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional development
- Work closely with other professionals and follow care plans
- Maintain accurate records and report any concerns appropriately
- Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people (professional or relevant personal experience considered)
- A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- A strong understanding of safeguarding children
- The ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Reliability and flexibility to work varied shifts
Desirable Experience & Training:
- Experience in residential care, supported living, education, or similar settings
- Training in Safeguarding, First Aid, Manual Handling, or Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
- Experience supporting children with additional needs, trauma, or behavioural challenges
