Job Title: Chef – Specialist Hospital for Adults with Brain Injuries Location: IP2 Job Type: Adhock Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and organised Chef to join our team at a specialist hospital providing care for adults with brain injuries. This role is essential in supporting the recovery and well-being of patients by preparing nutritious, safe, and appetizing meals tailored to individual dietary needs and medical conditions. You will work closely with dietitians, speech and language therapists, and clinical staff to ensure meals are appropriate for patients with complex needs, including those with dysphagia, food allergies, or special diets. Key Responsibilities: * Meal Preparation & Service: * Prepare, cook, and present meals and snacks that are nutritionally balanced and meet individual dietary requirements (e.g. texture-modified diets, high-protein, low-sodium). * Ensure all meals are delivered on time and at the appropriate temperature and consistency. * Work collaboratively with the clinical team to adjust meals based on patient care plans. * Health & Safety Compliance: * Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards in accordance with HACCP and hospital protocols. * Ensure allergens and dietary restrictions are clearly communicated and adhered to in food preparation. * Follow infection control procedures and guidelines at all times. * Kitchen Management: * Manage stock levels, food ordering, and deliveries efficiently and cost-effectively. * Ensure kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained regularly. * Maintain accurate food records, including menus, special diets, and food temperatures. * Collaboration & Communication: * Work closely with clinical dietitians, therapists, and nursing staff to understand patient needs. * Communicate effectively with patients and their families when needed, ensuring a person-centered approach to meal planning. * Contribute to menu planning that reflects cultural preferences and seasonal availability
