Are you an experienced Plumber or HIU Engineer looking for your next opportunity with a growing, established business?

We are currently recruiting HIU Engineers on behalf of a leading national provider of sustainable heating and energy solutions.

With over 35 years of industry experience and hundreds of employees across the UK, this is an exciting opportunity to join a company at the forefront of the UK's transition towards more efficient heating solutions.

The business specialises in the design, installation, maintenance and management of plant rooms and heat networks, working with major organisations including local authorities, universities, housing associations, private landlords and energy suppliers.

As a Service Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring HIU systems are installed, commissioned and maintained to the highest standards across new-build residential developments.

You'll be carrying out a mixture of fault finding, repairs, planned maintenance, installations and commissioning, making this a varied role with plenty of opportunity to develop your technical skills.

A strong plumbing background is highly desirable, along with previous HIU experience.

However, if you have the right plumbing/engineering background but limited HIU experience, full training will be provided.

This is more than just a basic salary package. The company offers an excellent earning opportunity with a range of additional benefits:

  • Competitive salary of £44k per annum. With the door to door travel they expect engineers to earn in the region of £52k plus overtime, bonus, money from call out etc.
  • Overtime paid at an impressive 1.66x rate

  • £270 per week for participating in the emergency call-out rota
  • Additional payment for call-outs, paid from receiving the call through to arriving home

With paid door-to-door travel, overtime, bonus payments and call-out earnings on top of the basic salary, engineers have the potential to significantly increase their overall earnings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing and resolving service faults, including repair and renewal works
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance
  • Installing and commissioning HIU systems on new-build residential sites
  • Completing plumbing and associated engineering works
  • Providing a high standard of customer service and technical expertise
  • Working safely and maintaining excellent Health & Safety standards
  • Participating in the emergency on-call rota
  • Working independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship

Skills & Qualifications

  • An NVQ Level qualification or equivalent in a relevant engineering/plumbing discipline
  • A current technical background, ideally within building services engineering
  • Previous HIU experience would be advantageous
  • The ability to work independently and without supervision
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional approach
  • The ability to adapt and thrive within a fast-moving industry
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data-handling systems
  • A full UK driving licence
