Role Overview

The Lead Echo Technologist oversees the technical and operational aspects of the Echo Lab, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality patient care, and staff development. They perform all echocardiography procedures, maintain accreditation standards, and support continuous performance improvement.

The Lead Echo Technologist oversees the technical and operational aspects of the Echo Lab, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality patient care, and staff development. They perform all echocardiography procedures, maintain accreditation standards, and support continuous performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily lab operations, assign staff, and monitor staffing levels to meet patient needs.
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and inventory management.
  • Perform echocardiography and vascular studies following established protocols.
  • Administer IV contrast, access veins, and ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements, participating in quality control and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor staff, train new hires, and support educational programs and competency validation.
  • Assist leadership with performance evaluations, staff coaching, and departmental planning.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of echocardiography/cardiology experience.
  • Competency in non-invasive echo and vascular studies, IV access, and contrast administration.
  • ARTR Echo Tech certification and BLS through the American Heart Association.
  • Associate's degree required.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality.
