Our business is unique in its ability to reach globally, service locally and provide cross-jurisdictional services. With our clients at the heart of everything we do, our hard-working team has successfully delivered on an unprecedented growth and transformation journey, and we are now represented by over circa 13,000 employees across 112 offices worldwide.

We are seeking a seasoned compliance expert to act as a designated Key Person for a premium portfolio of Jersey-regulated and Schedule 2 clients, including Collective Investment Funds (CIF) and managed entities. In this pivotal role, you will hold the statutory titles of Compliance Officer (CO), Money Laundering Compliance Officer (MLCO), and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO). You will serve as the primary regulatory bridge between our clients' boards and the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC), balancing robust regulatory oversight with commercial intelligence.

What You'll Do

  • Boardroom Leadership & Client Advisory
    • Be the Face of Compliance: Act as the trusted, primary point of contact for client boards, senior management, and controllers on all regulatory, conduct, and financial crime matters.
    • Provide Independent Challenge: Attend board and committee meetings to deliver high-level compliance oversight, constructive challenge, and strategic advice.
    • Commercial Partnering: Guide clients through complex regulatory landscapes, balancing strict JFSC compliance with their commercial objectives.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Oversight (CIF & Managed Entities)
    • Framework Management: Implement, maintain, and evolve proportionate compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures tailored to each client's regulatory category.
    • Monitoring & Remediation: Lead risk-based compliance monitoring programmes, oversee thematic reviews, and advise boards on remediation plans and control testing.
    • JFSC Engagement: Manage regulatory submissions, notifications, and ongoing supervisory engagement with the JFSC, ensuring material breaches are escalated and reported seamlessly.
  • AML/CFT & Financial Crime Defence
    • Disclosures & Reporting: Lead the AML/CFT defence; receive, assess, and determine internal disclosures, and submit external SARs to the Jersey FIU when required.
    • High-Risk Oversight: Oversee client business risk assessments (BRAs) and customer risk assessments (CRAs), providing independent challenge on complex structures, high-risk relationships, and PEPs.

To thrive in this post, you must be a self-motivated compliance professional with a strong track record in the Jersey finance sector.

Your Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Expert: You hold a relevant Table 4 qualification (e.g., ICA International Diploma) as recognized by the JFSC.
  • Jersey Regulatory Expertise: Deep, technical knowledge of Jersey's TCB and FSB regulatory frameworks, including the JFSC Codes of Practice.
  • Proven Key Person Track Record: Previous experience discharging CO/MLCO/MLRO responsibilities (or acting as a Deputy ready to step up) is highly advantageous.

Your Skills:

  • The Ability to Influence: Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to advise and challenge C-suite executives and board members.
  • Sound Judgement: Absolute independence, integrity, and the professional maturity to make high-stakes regulatory decisions.
  • Proactive Operator: Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritize a diverse workload across a portfolio of unique clients.

What's In It For You?

  • High Visibility: A rare opportunity to hold multiple Key Person positions with prestigious Jersey entities.
