Equity Apex is seeking a Manager to join a growing team that delivers full suite fund accounting and financial reporting services to private equity clients with complex fund structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client relationships from an accounting perspective, serving as the primary point of contact for all accounting queries.
  • Provide day‐to‐day fund accounting and financial reporting services to a portfolio of private equity clients, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Own bookkeeping processes, ensuring that all day‐to‐day matters are performed timely and satisfactorily, including controlling and monitoring ledgers.
  • Prepare and review management accounts, financial statements and NAV calculations in compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Review capital call and distribution workings, oversee carried interest and other calculations in accordance with fund documentation.
  • Act as first‐line reviewer of routine and non‐routine accounting deliverables (management and statutory accounts, NAV calculations, call/distribution workings, etc.).
  • Work closely with the Private Equity Funds administration team and clients to keep accounting records accurate and transactions incorporated appropriately.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of periodic direct and indirect tax returns and liaise with tax advisers.
  • Attend board meetings to present financial information as necessary.
  • Support the audit process to ensure the completion of milestones and deadlines.
  • Manage and supervise junior team members, including coaching, mentoring, goal setting and periodic appraisals.
  • Perform other duties to support the Senior Manager/Associate Director and team as may be necessary from time‐to‐time.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Hold a professional ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA qualification or equivalent (partly qualified candidates with funds experience considered).
  • Experienced manager (or assistant manager welcome) with years of relevant experience in private equity fund accounting.
  • Proficient in IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to develop strong working relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Strong project management skills, including people management.
  • Basic understanding of Jersey statutory laws and anti‐money laundering regulations.
  • Motivated and driven, with a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement.
