Apex wishes to recruit a forward thinking, articulate, self-motivated, and self-reliant leader within its Private Debt business in London. This role supports an existing and growing client in the Debt Sector covering mainly UK, Jersey, Luxembourg and US jurisdictional administration and corporate governance obligations to a portfolio of regulated, unregulated, and listed entities.
Apex provides a range of corporate secretarial services, entity & fund management administration, AML compliance, tax compliance, directorship services, and general administration services mainly to investment funds and corporate vehicles in multiple jurisdictions. Our clients include several leading financial institutions operating out of the UK. We act for institutional fund managers, global alternative asset managers and corporates, servicing capital market debt funds and private equity structures across a variety of structures including limited partnerships, LLPs, special purpose vehicle administration and stock exchange listed companies.
It is essential that the applicant has both good managerial and leadership experience as well as strong administration and company secretarial knowledge to discharge effective oversight of the functions, ideally within a fast-paced financial services environment. The role will report to the Director in charge of Private Debt services in London.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the operational lead on a client service team, including client onboarding, client service and implementation of client strategy.
- Provide administration and multi-jurisdictional company secretarial and corporate governance services to Apex’s largest clients.
- Provide sound administration, company secretarial and governance technical interpretation, advice and training to clients, directors of client entities and team members.
- Lead transaction management processes for transactions such as share issuances, buy backs, investments, corporate group restructuring/refinancing, capital calls and distributions.
- Build excellent working relationships with key clients and enhance client experience.
- Maintain and create procedures based on client specific requirements, internal systems and KPI reporting.
- Ensure team’s compliance with applicable laws, service standards, company policies and procedures.
- Create, motivate, and lead a high-performing team, ensuring development of their ability to deal with day-to-day matters.
- Work closely and coordinate with the operational team to drive forward and streamline best practices.
- Assist in the development of Apex Client Services product offering across alternative assets.
- Act as a director on client boards (if necessary and as approved).
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects as required by the business.
- Responsible for all financial aspects of client relationships, including billing processes and monitoring cash collections.
- Professional qualification preferred (CGI, previously ICSA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in a legal or financial services environment.
- Highly developed commercial and strategic dexterity.
- Credibility and gravitas to interact and develop business relationships internally and externally.
- Focused on delivering against business goals to create value.
- Good understanding of the technical and operational requirements of offering fiduciary and administrative services.
- Ability to challenge, harness, and nurture the talents of people at all levels within the Client Services team.
