The Company
Our client is a fast-growing, UK based, innovative business which is looking to deliver over Β£1bn of heat network projects in the coming years. They fund, design, build, operate and maintain low carbon district energy networks and building energy systems for communities, towns and cities, working with local authorities, developers, house builders and property owners.
Continued growth has created a new opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the design team based in their Sheffield offices.
The Position
The role is to support the design and growth of heat network infrastructure in the UK, so you may also be expected to visit prospective and active construction sites throughout the UK on occasion. This position will differ from conventional design responsibilities in that the engineer will be given the opportunity to help βownβ design projects from inception through to operation. Following the handover to the Operations Team, the engineer will continue to monitor and evaluate feedback from the Team to help refine and improve the design and all future designs.
Responsibilities
- Participating on the design and delivery of new energy projects during the pre-construction and construction phases. This will include:
- General & Emergency Lighting design
- Small Power and Data
- Containment
- LV Distribution and single line diagrams
- Automatic fire Alarm system
The Person
We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer with excellent electrical engineering design, technical, and software skills who enjoys working collaboratively in dynamic multi-professional teams, assisting in all aspects of the delivery of projects from inception to completion to achieve outstanding results. You will be able to show you have had recent experience in this design area and you will have a keen interest in the field of low carbon energy engineering systems for domestic, commercial and industrial buildings. You will have a keen eye for detail and be technically proficient.
Qualifications and Experience
- An appropriate Electrical Qualification (BEng)
- Experience of AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Amtech and Dilaux
- Good knowledge of the UK relevant legislation, standards, regulations, guides, and all-round good practice
- IT proficient; Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email systems, etc. as a minimum
- Excellent communication and presentations skills, written and oral
- Good organisational, time management and planning
