Due to growth we are currently recruiting for an Electrician on behalf of a well-known and successful M&E and HVAC contractor. Operating over 20 years, they provide Facilities Management, M&E, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Ventilation Services and Catering Equipment Repairs. They operate in a range of sectors including commercial, educational, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, retail, leisure and public sector.

The Electrician will be responsible for working on multi-disciplinary refurbishment projects, the design and installation of mechanical and electrical systems, and the delivery of planned and reactive mechanical HVAC and electrical maintenance services. This includes everything from full conversions, installations, small projects, testing, and reactive maintenance. You would be covering the North East area.

This is a permanent position paying Β£38,354 – Β£39,875 per annum with a review after a 3-month probation period. It is working 38 hours a week basic 08:00 – 16:30 Mon – Thur & 08:00 – 14:30 Fri. Perks include Van & Fuel Card. Private use of van is allowed. Overtime is paid at x1.5 Saturday morning/weekday evenings, double time for Saturday afternoon and Sundays. Pension. 21 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Training and Development opportunities. The call out rota is 1 week in every 5.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Pre Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on M&E and electrical systems and equipment.
  • Emergency Light Testing.
  • Electrical Remedials.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and perform reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Undertake installation tasks, including minor projects related to power supply, lighting, power distribution etc.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults, ensuring timely repairs.
  • Ensure Compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report findings.

Skills & Attributes:

  • ECS Gold Card.
  • Background in building services/facilities management would be beneficial.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
  • An eye for detail and a desire to work to a very high standard.
  • Full UK Driving License.
