Job Description
SEN Teaching Assistant required to work with KS1 & KS2 children with additional needs. Experience and knowledge of working with ADHD, Autism, Pre Verbal / Non Verbal and SEMH would be an advantage.
September 2025 to start – Monday to Friday – 8.30am to 3.30pm (Term time only with additional holiday pay)
This is an opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker or Psychology Graduate to make a real difference to a young life.
Special Needs Teaching Assistant Role & Qualification:
- To support a mixed age range of SEN students with Autism, ADHD, Pre Verbal & Non Verbal and SEMH needs.
- Managing the student’s behaviour and employing de-escalation skills when required.
- Able to identify & manage triggers and traits.
- To work as a team alongside the class teacher with the students learning and development within the classroom.
- Positive Handling Trained (i.e Team Teach) would ideally be essential or be prepared to be trained in this area.
- Youth worker background or supporting children within the care sector.
- L2/L3 Teaching Assistant, Care, SEND or Psychology qualification.
