1:1 Special Needs Teaching Assistant required to work with a non-verbal KS2 student in a Hornchurch School. The successful candidate will provide structured learning while maintaining routine and boundaries throughout the school day, helping the student access their learning. Do you have the patience, resilience and enthusiasm to support children with additional needs and make a positive difference in their educational journey?
Monday - Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm (Term time only)
Role responsibilities & Qualification:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 3 student who is non-verbal.
- Support the student's learning, communication, and social development.
- Establish and maintain clear routines and boundaries to help the student feel secure and engaged.
- Experience using PECS, Makaton or Communication Boards/books.
- Experience working with SEN children that have communication needs.
- Can build strong, trusting relationships with the student and staff.
- Happy to assist with personal care if needed.
- L2/L3 Teaching Assistant, SEND, Care or Psychology qualification.
