An oversubscribed, successful secondary school in Hayes is looking for an organised and experienced Exams Officer to start in January 2026.
The Role
As an Exams Officer, you would be responsible for the administration, management, and smooth operation of all internal and external examinations, ensuring compliance with school policy and awarding bodies. You would oversee managing all examinations through the academic year, including examination entries for internal and national exams. Additionally, you would provide general administration support when required. This role has set working hours; however, some flexibility is required during busy examination periods. On occasion, you may need to start earlier, finish later, or work additional hours.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure secure storage of examination materials, process examination entries, and manage the distribution of results.
- Oversee invigilator recruitment and training, ensuring examinations are conducted in line with JCQ regulations and school standards.
- Liaise with staff and students to communicate procedures, timetables, and access arrangements, ensuring all necessary resources are in place.
- Assist with the development and monitoring of the examinations budget.
Person Specification
We are looking for an Examinations Officer with:
- Previous experience in exams administration or school administration (essential)
- Proven experience with school systems and operations (Bromcom SIMS, Arbor)
- Good communication and ability to work with staff, students, and external bodies
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and keep to strict deadlines
- Knowledgeable on examination boards specifications and regulations
