Job Title: Art Teacher Department: Art Reports to: Head of Department/Line Manager Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and highly motivated Art Teacher to join our dynamic and creative department. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring art lessons to students across [Specify Key Stages, e.g., Key Stages 3-5]. They will be expected to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment where students can develop their artistic skills, knowledge, and appreciation. Key Responsibilities: * Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective art lessons that meet the needs of all students, including those with SEND. * Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages creativity, experimentation, and risk-taking. * Develop and assess student work effectively, providing constructive feedback to support student progress. * Prepare students for [List relevant exams, e.g., GCSE Art and Design, A Level Art and Design]. * Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attendance. * Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular activities, open evenings, and school events. * Participate in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities. * Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment. * Build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and colleagues. * Promote and support the school's values and ethos. Essential Skills and Experience: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. * Proven experience of teaching Art to [Specify Key Stages, e.g., secondary school] students. * Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for art education. * Strong classroom management and organizational skills. * Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Proficiency in a range of art and design techniques. * Experience of using ICT in the teaching and learning of Art. * Commitment to professional development. Desirable Skills and Experience: * Experience of teaching [List specific exams, e.g., GCSE Art and Design, A Level Art and Design]. * Experience of working with students with SEND. * Experience of using a variety of assessment methods. * Experience of leading extra-curricular art clubs or activities.
