Apex Contracting Solutions is a fast-growing electrical contractor working alongside Tier 1 & 2 M&E clients, and we’re looking to bring an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor into our team.

The Role As an Electrical Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple electrical projects from initial procurement through to final account.

Working closely with the Directors, Project Managers and Site Teams, you will ensure projects remain commercially successful while maintaining excellent client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial aspects of multiple electrical projects.
  • Prepare, submit and negotiate interim applications and valuations.
  • Produce and manage project cost reports and commercial forecasts.
  • Monitor project budgets and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Value and negotiate variations with clients and subcontractors.
  • Prepare, review and agree final accounts.
  • Review contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts, applications and payments.
  • Carry out regular site visits to monitor project progress and costs.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to ensure projects remain within budget and programme.
  • Produce accurate monthly cost value reconciliations (CVRs).
  • Support cash flow forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Attend client meetings and commercial review meetings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Electrical Quantity Surveyor within the electrical or M&E industry.
  • Strong understanding of commercial contracts, valuations and variations.
  • Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to final account.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
