About The Opportunity
We are looking for candidates from an environmental background with a passion and experience in carbon quantification and management. Joining the team at this critical time for climate action presents a great opportunity to influence the national agenda, shape best practice decarbonisation approaches, and play a meaningful role on the pathway to Net Zero.

- Working with clients as diverse as National Highways, The Crown Estate, London City Airports, Mercedes, TIER, numerous government bodies, local authorities, utility providers, private developers, investors, and banks.
- Collaborating with colleagues across Sustainability & Climate Change, and the wider business to deliver meaningful solutions to reduce carbon across value chains and embed carbon-conscious decision-making throughout business departments.
- Providing presentations and reports on a variety of topics, including net zero strategies, carbon management approaches, and lifecycle assessments to meet varying client requirements.
- Preparing the groundwork for organisations to pursue meaningful and purpose-led strategies, including setting targets (e.g., science-based, and net zero road maps and strategies).
- Contributing to the development of our carbon management service offerings and supporting business development activities, including bid writing for small to large scale proposals.
- Marketing WSP’s carbon management capability via networking, seminars, thought leadership, and general business development.
- Contributing to and directing the strategic vision of the carbon team across the business.
- Developing junior staff and providing technical and project-based direction.
YOUR TEAM

- Has demonstrable experience in a leadership role within a professional business environment, such as consultancy or other relevant organisations.
- Possesses significant experience in delivering projects, developing strategies, and implementing change.
- Demonstrates substantial experience in engaging with clients at senior manager and executive levels.
- Holds deep applied knowledge of UK and international legislation, policy, and guidance in the net zero sector.
- Is fully competent in conducting numerical analyses in Excel, using carbon software and digital platforms, and producing concise, impactful written/presentation outputs to communicate with clients.
- Works well with a wide range of people on a global basis.
- Has led high-quality, multi-discipline fee proposals.
- Provided expert technical guidance in carbon strategy management, quantification methodologies, and governance.
- Has a track record of delivering a variety of complex projects, allocating time efficiently, and consistently meeting deadlines.
- Mentored junior staff and fostered a ‘carbon conscious culture’.
