As our Care Home Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the home. As a regulated business, we expect the candidate to be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and be familiar with all the relevant legislation and regulations. You will be responsible for ensuring that the home provides high-quality care and support to our residents, whilst meeting financial targets and maintaining full occupancy. You will be supported by a dedicated team, including a Deputy Manager, a Hospitality person to assist with the management of hospitality services, and an Administrator. This team will collaborate with you to ensure smooth operations and exceptional care for our residents.
About the Role:
- Provide leadership, supervision, and guidance to nursing and care staff.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strong leadership and management to the care home, ensuring high-quality, person-centered care.
- Oversee and support the clinical and nursing team, ensuring evidence-based best practices are followed.
- Ensure full compliance with CQC (Care Quality Commission) standards and all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of residents.
- Manage budgets, staffing, and resources effectively to meet financial and care delivery targets.
- Recruit, train, and supervise staff, fostering a positive and professional working environment.
- Act as the main point of contact for residents, families, and external professionals.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and quality assurance activities.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safeguarding, and dignity in care.
- Handle complaints, concerns, and incidents in a professional and timely manner.
Requirements:
- Preferably NMC registered nurse with relevant post-registration experience (desirable but not essential).
- Proven experience in a senior nursing or supervisory role.
- Strong clinical skills and sound knowledge of nursing care procedures and practices.
- Experience in care planning, medication management, and compliance.
- Good understanding of CQC standards, safeguarding, and health & safety regulations.
