This is a hands-on maintenance role within a stable and well established manufacturing site. You will be part of a small engineering team responsible for keeping production equipment safe, compliant and running efficiently. This is not a project-only position or an automation-heavy role. It is a genuine maintenance job where engineers are valued for doing things properly.

Working pattern: Monday to Friday - Regular Days, 40 hours per week

Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 per year, dependent on experience. Overtime paid at competitive weekday and weekend rates.

The role involves carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance across production machinery and site equipment, supporting day to day operations and longer term reliability. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planned preventative maintenance in line with the site schedule
  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repair
  • Responding to breakdowns safely and efficiently
  • Recording downtime, breakdowns and maintenance activity accurately
  • Supporting other engineers during major breakdowns or high priority issues
  • Carrying out repairs and improvements to production machinery
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and safe working
  • Completing risk assessments and method statements when required
  • Managing contractors on site and ensuring permit to work compliance
  • Working with engineering management on spares control and cost reduction
  • Supporting health and safety compliance across all engineering activity

You will be expected to take ownership of your work and contribute positively to how the site is maintained and improved.

  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Good electrical capability, 18th Edition desirable
  • Electrical control systems knowledge
  • Working knowledge of PLC controlled equipment
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Tig welding experience beneficial but not essential
  • Able to work well as part of a team and also independently
  • Calm under pressure with good attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and strong safety mindset
