We are recruiting a Field Service Engineer to join a growing engineering business specialising in the installation, maintenance and refurbishment of FMCG equipment.
This is a varied role combining service, fault finding, installation and commissioning work across a broad range of machinery. The company is an established market leader with a strong customer base and offers genuine earning potential through overtime and call-out opportunities.
- Installation and commissioning of new and refurbished equipment
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Reactive breakdown support and fault finding
- Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs
- Equipment refurbishment and relocation projects
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement activities
- Electrical fault finding on 24V and 3-phase systems
- PLC fault finding and diagnostics
- Control panel assembly and wiring
- Fixed wiring installations and modifications
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics
- Mechanical strip down and rebuild of equipment
- Installation and commissioning at customer sites
- Providing telephone and on-site technical support
Qualifications:
- Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering
- PLC knowledge and fault-finding capability
- Strong problem-solving and Root Cause Analysis skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel nationally and stay away when required
This is a field-based role covering the UK, Ireland and occasional European sites. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm with regular overtime opportunities. There is an on-call rota of 1 week in 5, national travel, and overnight stays, occasionally up to 7 consecutive nights. Occasional night and weekend working may be required depending on customer requirements.
