As Visits & Events Supervisor, you will lead the day-to-day planning, preparation and delivery of visits and events hosted in our Visitor Centre at our Trowbridge head office. At the very heart of apetito | Wiltshire Farm Foods' proposition is our great food, and the core of this role is making a real difference by showcasing our food and our people with pride, professionalism and attention to detail.
Our Visitor Centre hosts guests several times a week, from specialists such as Facilities Managers and Dietitians to senior decision makers, partners and stakeholders. You will be the operational lead for the Visitor Centre experience, ensuring every visit is well planned, professionally hosted and delivered to a consistently high standard, with brilliant co-ordination behind the scenes.
This role is hands-on and delivery-focused, with accountability for logistics, administration and standards. It also includes line management of the Visits & Events Assistant, with a clear expectation that you will be an empowering, supportive people manager who builds confidence, capability and reliability through clear ways of working, coaching and follow-through.
Most importantly, you will help ensure every guest leaves with a brilliant impression of apetito | Wiltshire Farm Foods, and a clear understanding of how we make a real difference. This is a full-time role. Some visits and events may start earlier or finish later than standard hours, so flexibility around core office hours is required. Occasional UK travel and overnight stays will also be required to support event delivery.
Responsibilities
- Visitor Centre experience leadership: Own the end-to-end experience for customers, prospects and stakeholders visiting our Trowbridge site, ensuring every visit is smooth, professional and aligned to our high standards, brand, proposition and purpose.
- Visit planning and co-ordination: Lead visit planning and administration including agendas, host and presenter co-ordination, room scheduling, pre-visit communications and on-the-day logistics, ensuring internal stakeholders are briefed and prepared.
- Hosting and delivery: Host visits and events, welcoming guests, setting the tone, managing timings and ensuring the Visitor Centre is consistently clean, tidy, well-presented and showcasing the business at its best.
- Food and meal preparation: Plan, cook, present and serve meals across the apetito | Wiltshire Farm Foods portfolio, maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness and presentation, and showcasing the quality and breadth of our proposition.
- 'Kitchen West' visitor experience development: Support the development of future visitor experiences at our new 'Kitchen West' factory, helping shape the guest journey and practical hosting requirements including layout, equipment, routines and ways of working.
- Line management and team development: Line manage the Visits & Events Assistant, setting clear expectations and priorities, creating structure and accountability, and coaching day-to-day performance to build confidence and consistency over time.
- Standards and continuous improvement: Maintain and improve visit processes, tools and ways of working to continually raise quality, acting as the single point of truth for how visits are delivered.
- Technology and troubleshooting (in partnership with IT): Build strong working knowledge of Visitor Centre technology (screens, presentation systems, video conferencing and connected devices), co-ordinate with IT to resolve issues, and embed routines so visits run seamlessly.
- Internal events support: Support delivery of key internal events including conferences, leadership meetings, inductions and wider engagement moments, ensuring high-quality experiences and hospitality.
- Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with Brand & Communications and wider business colleagues to align hosts, content and logistics, building trusted relationships and ensuring visits support commercial and reputational priorities.
- Wider business support: Contribute to wider Brand & Communications activity as needed, supporting cross-functional projects and remaining flexible during peak periods.
About you
Essential:
- Demonstrable experience delivering high-quality customer, hospitality or events experiences in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple visits, stakeholders and deadlines with attention to detail.
- Experience supervising a small team, with the ability to coach, motivate and build confidence through clear expectations.
- Confident, professional communicator, comfortable hosting and building relationships face-to-face and digitally.
- Proven ability to take ownership, create structure and ensure reliable delivery through strong follow-through.
- Strong IT literacy, particularly Microsoft Outlook, Teams and Word, with confidence using tech in meeting and presentation environments.
- Guest-obsessed and quality-driven: Holds a high bar and takes pride in getting the detail right, every time.
