We are looking for a GDPR Compliance Manager to join the UK Risk Team on a full-time basis on a 12‑month Fixed Term Contract. The successful candidate will have responsibility for supporting apetito’s GDPR compliance position. This role will report to the Risk Manager/Data Protection Officer and will be a key member of the UK Risk Team, supporting business‑wide initiatives and changes. It is central to ensuring that Data Asset Registers are kept updated and that Privacy Impact Assessments are reviewed in a timely and effective manner. This role will be largely office‑based for the first few months during the induction period, moving to hybrid working.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Data Protection Officer specifically in the area of Data Asset Registers, Data Processing Agreements and Privacy Impact Assessments
  • Supporting the Data Protection Officer in other day‑to‑day activities relating to GDPR legislation
  • Ensure robustness through providing cover for other team members
  • Project coordination and facilitation
  • Supporting internal and external audits
  • Supporting other team members

About you

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of data protection law
  • Experience of compiling and updating Data Asset Registers
  • Experience of assessing Privacy Impact Assessments
  • Experience of reviewing contracts and Data Processing Agreements
  • Recognised qualification in data protection e.g. BCS Practitioner in Data Protection certification
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong analysis skills
  • A completer-finisher
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to quickly pick up new digital tools and techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi‑task
  • Able to maintain integrity and follow due process
  • Self‑motivated and able to own and manage workload with minimal supervision
  • Full driving licence held
  • Must have been resident in the UK or EU for the last three years

Desirable:

  • Audit experience
  • A degree in a business related subject

This role will require some travel, primarily within the UK, however this may be extended toward both European and international travel as required.
