As Communications Executive, you will play a key role in delivering engaging, high-quality communications that help colleagues and external audiences understand who we are, what we stand for, and how we are making a real difference. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role at the heart of our storytelling capability, spanning organic social media, digital reputation, and internal communications.

Working closely with the Communications Manager, and in partnership with PR and Creative colleagues, you will take responsibility for day-to-day communications delivery across a range of owned channels. You will help ensure content is on-brand, on-tone and aligned to our purpose, supporting consistency and quality across everything we publish.

Most importantly, you will help ensure our communications are clear, human and purposeful, building trust, pride and connection across the business and beyond. This role is based in our Trowbridge head office and you will need to be on site at least 3 days per week.

apetito is the UK’s leading food supplier to the health and social care sectors serving more than 1,300 care homes, health care and education settings. Our meals are expertly crafted by our dieticians and chefs, and then frozen to lock in the goodness. Wiltshire Farm Foods, our sister company, is the UK’s largest ready meal supplier cooking and delivering over 330 different delicious frozen ready meals across the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Organic and Executive Social Media: Manage the strategy and delivery of organic social media content for apetito | Wiltshire Farm Foods’ corporate channels, working closely with PR and Creative teams to align activity with campaigns and priorities. Support the planning, creation and management of social content for Executive and Board-level leaders, ensuring communications are authentic, consistent and aligned to our agreed tone of voice.
  • Digital Reputation Management: Monitor and support the management of apetito | Wiltshire Farm Foods’ digital reputation across platforms such as Glassdoor, Trustpilot and Indeed. Track sentiment, identify themes and support timely, appropriate responses in line with agreed guidance and brand standards.
  • Internal Communications Delivery: Deliver day-to-day internal communications activity, including gathering internal news, writing engaging stories, producing and distributing internal newsletters and publishing content across agreed internal channels to ensure colleagues are informed, connected and engaged.
  • Brand, Tone of Voice and Storytelling Quality: Ensure all communications, particularly organic social and internal content, are consistently aligned to apetito | Wiltshire Farm Foods’ brand, tone of voice and values. Act as a guardian of quality and consistency across owned channels, maintaining a clear and distinctive voice.
  • Content and Storytelling Collaboration: Work in close partnership with PR, Creative and Digital colleagues to adapt and amplify stories across internal and external owned channels, ensuring consistency of message, tone and visual identity.
  • Measurement and Insight: Track communications activity and channel performance, using insight and feedback to support reporting and inform continuous improvement.
  • Internal Events Support: Support the planning and delivering of internal events, ensuring smooth organisation, effective coordination, and strong colleague engagement throughout.
  • Visits and Events Digital Support: Provide communications-focused digital support for visits and events activity, including supporting digital storytelling tools and content within the Visitor Centre and other key experiences.
  • Wider Business Support: Contribute to wider Brand & Communications activity, supporting external events, business-wide campaigns and cross-functional initiatives as required.
About you
  • Essential: Experience in communications, content, social media or a related role.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with ability to adapt tone and style for internal, external and executive audiences.
  • Experience managing or contributing to corporate organic social media channels.
  • Understanding of brand, tone of voice and the importance of consistency in corporate communications.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Purpose-led: Understands the role communications plays in building trust, alignment and culture, and brings this mindset to their work every day.
  • Makes thoughtful decisions- knows when to act independently and when to seek guidance.
