Are you a commercially driven Procurement professional looking to make a real impact across a diverse and business-critical services portfolio? At apetito, we are looking for a Procurement Manager to lead sourcing and supplier management across key service categories (indirect) including HR Services, Business Support Services, Travel and Utilities. This is a fantastic opportunity to influence both strategic and operational spend, working closely with stakeholders across the business.
You will have a solid understanding of both the purchasing process (tender, negotiation and award) and strategic sourcing (market data, supply chain, cost control). Most importantly, you are able to work on your own initiative as well as being an integral part of a high performing team. This role will require some travel, primarily to UK suppliers; however this may be extended toward both European and international travel as required. A typical amount could be 2 days travel per month. This role is based at our UK Head Office in Trowbridge Wiltshire. Once you’re trained and able to work independently, you’ll have the option to work up to 2 days a week from home- depending on operational commitments.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end procurement activity, from strategy development through to contract award
- Deliver cost savings, value improvements and risk mitigation across your portfolio
- Partner with HR, Finance and operational stakeholders to support business priorities
- Manage key supplier relationships, driving performance and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contracts and regulatory requirements
- Monitor market trends (e.g. energy and travel) to inform sourcing decisions
About you
Essential:
- Proven experience in a procurement role, ideally in service categories
- Impactful and adaptable negotiator capable of influencing key business stakeholders and decision makers
- Innovative thinker with ability to generate/deliver valued added procurement solutions that positively affect the performance of the business
- Highly analytical with the ability to measure and provide meaningful information to the wider business
- Effective and adaptable communicator
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Resilient and persistent
- Act at pace and meet deadlines
- Strong organisation skills- capable of initiating, prioritising and managing several projects simultaneously
Desirable:
- Experience in procurement for utilities, HR services or business services
- Full UK driving Licence
- Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) membership or additional relevant postgraduate qualification
