Retail Sales and Operations Manager position based in Tunbridge Wells. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a proactive, positive outlook and a passion for delivering WFF’s good old-fashioned service ethos. Competitive salary + bonus + benefits. Wiltshire Farm Foods, part of the apetito group, is the UK’s largest ready-meal supplier, delivering over 330 frozen ready meals across the UK primarily to the elderly, their families and healthcare professionals. We are dedicated to making a real difference in customers’ lives by providing excellent service and by operating ethically and sustainably. This role involves taking ownership of the territory as if it were your own business, strengthening local relationships with customers and in the local community, and delivering outstanding results with the support of national systems.
Responsibilities
- Happy Teams – Good Old-Fashioned Service
- Empower and enable frontline teams to delight the customer and deliver brilliant, good old-fashioned service
- Develop and support the team to talk about our food passionately and knowledgeably
- Foster an environment where the team respects and supports each other, with opportunities to excel for customers and colleagues
- Prioritise health and safety of team members
- Costs of Local Distribution (COLD)
- Deliver the agreed target for the Cost of Local Distribution within the local depot
- Focus on labour, vehicle, depot and local marketing costs as primary levers
- Review monthly performance with the Regional Manager
- Ensure required actions are executed to keep the depot on target
- Growing Sales
- Manage national data while sustaining local customer relationships; deliver agreed sales targets through the team
- Implement all national campaign activities for new and existing customers
- Ensure CRM activities are executed
- Implement local growth initiatives to deliver targets (e.g., sheltered housing, CSA training)
- Community Engagement
- Engage with the local community to support local sales growth
- Engage with appropriate community organisations, local hospitals, and healthcare professionals
Essential Experience, Skills, and Abilities
- Establishes exceptional relationships with customers
- Demonstrable experience of delivering sales and profitability targets; high standards with a relentless focus on service
- Experience leading a team, creating a culture of engagement, and developing individuals to their potential; willing to be hands-on in daily operations
- Ability to interpret data to identify key levers for success
