We are looking for a Customs & Duty Coordinator to join our Commercial Finance Team. You will support the Customs Manager to ensure compliance with all Importing & Exporting regulations by preparing documentation, working effectively with key stakeholders, maintaining accurate schedules and ensuring appropriate checks, reconciliations and audits are completed.
You will build effective relationships across a wide range of internal teams such as Technical, Purchasing and Logistics and central Finance. In addition, the role will require working regularly with our parent company based in Rheine, Germany as well as external supply chain partners and government agencies.
This is a newly created role and we’re looking for someone to help to shape and influence the current ways of working. There will be lots of opportunity to lead on identifying and implementing process improvements.
The role will be based at our National Distribution Centre in Portbury, Bristol but travelling to our Head Office in Trowbridge, Wiltshire will be required at least once a month. Hybrid working, up to 2 days per week from home (subject to operational requirements.)

Responsibilities
- Development and ongoing accurate maintenance of various Customs schedules
- Regular contact with suppliers and customers to obtain supporting information and support attestations
- Escalation of critical or urgent matters such as border rejections
- Development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
- Develop and provide understanding of new requirements as and when applicable
- Manage the classification of goods in adherence to all customs laws and regulations
- Notification of necessary specification amendments to Product Development team and Supplier Technical Manager
- Arrange and communicate vet visits at respective apetito sites
- Supporting the Customs Manager with any ad-hoc requests
Essential Requirements
- Strong administration skills
- Previous experience in an office administration role
