Are you early in your career and looking for a role that blends flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to make a real impact in water resources management? Are you keen to reduce commuting time and costs by working from home, while developing your skills with the support of an experienced consultancy team? We’re looking for a Water Resources Management Consultant to join our growing Freshwater team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about water resources, eager to learn, and ready to take the next step in their career.
In this role, you’ll support a wide range of projects including drought and water resources planning, environmental assessments (e.g. WFD, HRA) and hydrological data analysis. You’ll also contribute to technical reports, tenders and project coordination. As this is a remote-first position, we’re looking for a motivated self-starter - someone who enjoys managing their own time, staying organised, and proactively seeking support and development when needed. You’ll receive full guidance from our friendly, multidisciplinary team, but this role suits individuals who are independent and able to thrive without daily in-office supervision. Some travel for site visits or client meetings may be required.
What we’re looking for:
- A relevant BSc or MSc degree
- Enthusiasm for water resources, environmental assessment or hydrology
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Data handling and analysis skills (or the willingness to learn)
- A logical, problem-solving approach
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload
- A full UK driving licence
It’s a bonus if you have:
- Any prior experience in water resources, hydrology or environmental consultancy
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. CIWEM)
- First Aid certification and/or a CSCS card
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as WFD, HRA, SEA, EAR or water resilience planning
We are focused on creating a diverse and inclusive team. If you can’t tick every box on our job description, then we are still keen to hear from you and are open to supporting your development. That may be working part time or supporting you to gain experience in a specific area – we are a growing company and are able to adapt roles to reflect individual skills. If you think you have what it takes to join our fast-growing business, then please apply immediately on our website. All we need is some basic information and your CV; we will review all applications quickly and respond to all applicants.
